I now realize why most people only end up with 2-3 triops, it's because they're vicious cannibals. What began as ten triop babies has now been reduced to a mere four. Only the strongest survive, and the four that are left were certainly the biggest and healthiest of the bunch. It was last night that I witnessed a macabre ritual. One of the triops was collecting the bones of his deceased buddies and rolling them into a ball. They like to lay on their backs and juggle food with their legs the same way, it was quite a sight. I'd say in another week or two, it will be time to transfer one to the aquarium as a test. If he survives, they will all be moving to a much bigger home.
