Week 3
March 21th - 27th

The Triops finally came in earlier this week, I was beginning to get worried they had been lost in the mail. Instead of opening them and reading the instructions like a thinking person, I ran out and spent $40 on an aquarium, water pump, and gravel; first thing. When I got back with all the stuff and sat down to read them, it turns out you are not supposed to grow them in more than a liter of water, and also their tank can contain no foreign objects. So, after I got over the fact that I just wasted my money, I put them into another sea monkey tank that I had instead. They hatched quickly on the second day, and there are a lot of them, at least 10 by last count. I have never heard of anyone having more than three or four hatching at once, so I am really lucky to get this many from a single package. The sea monkeys are really big now, almost half of their adult size. I've looked closely in the tank and I can see some small ones wiggling around, which means they're already having babies. This cycle will continue with each generation, meaning my monkey tank could go on forever. I'm hoping that once the triops get big enough, I can transfer them over to the aquarium so that it won't be a total waste. I don't see how ten of these suckers are supposed to live in a one liter tank anyway. Enjoy the pictures and movies of my newest pets.

Money wasted? Only time will tell.

Everything you need to grow Triops. You get the eggs, a nutrient pouch, and enough food to last for a very long time.
